Unlikely as it sounds, Hogan’s Heroes was a T.V. comedy series set in a Nazi prisoner of war camp during the Second World War. One of the most popular of the military situation comedies of the 1960s, it featured a mixed bag of Allied soldiers who constantly outwit their buffoonish captors. Created by Bernard Fein and Albert. S. Ruddy, the show starred Bob Crane as Colonel Robert Hogan, with John Banner as Schultz and Werner Klemperer as the inept Colonel Klink.
